A valid driving license from the country of permanent residence along with an International driving permit may be used for driving on Seychelles for up to three months.

The main road traffic rules:

• Driving is on the left side of the road.
• The minimum age to drive vehicles is 18 years, motorcycles – 16 years.
• The permitted blood alcohol level is 0.08%.
• Speed limit is 40km/h (25mph) in built-up areas and 65km/h (40mph) on the open roads.
• Drivers and front-seat passengers are mandatory to wear seatbelts.
• The police phone number is 999.

To rent a car, a driver must be at least 21 years old, has a valid driver license, and has three or more years of driving experience.
